You can be a part of honoring the transformational power of hope for a brighter tomorrow by supporting Extra-Ordinary Birthdays' Hope for Kids Costume Party!

This annual fundraiser allows individuals and families, young and old, to contribute to our cause while experiencing the magic and joy of make-believe through costumes, much like the children we celebrate have the chance to do at their parties. At each birthday celebration at the homeless shelters the birthday child is able to dress in some type of costume that coordinates with their requested theme, i.e. tiaras and gloves for princesses, visors for race car drivers, capes for super heroes, etc.  The costumes add to the personalization of the party and helps them as well as their family and friends get into the spirit of the celebration.  This has been such a tremendous boost for the children when they return back to their room to not only relive the moment of their birthday but to continue the wonder of make-believe that is such a special part of childhood.

Please make plans to dress in costume and come have a great time with us on October 29th at American University's Battelle Atrium. We are often contacted by parents who have children who want to volunteer with us, but since youth under the age of 16 are not able to work within the shelters, this fundraiser is an awesome opportunity for the whole family to come out and support EOB. There will be music, activity stations,  a costume parade and contest, refreshments, and much more!
